NEW TO TRAPT? HERE ARE OUR MOST COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT TRAPT AND ESCAPE ROOMS!

WHAT HAPPENS IN AN ESCAPE ROOM?

Our experiences are designed to be fun, intellectually challenging and social games where your team has to solve a mystery or complete a mission before time runs out! At TRAPT, you’re never truly locked in and never truly need to escape – immerse yourself in our stories and complete series of challenges and puzzles in order to make your way out! Puzzles may be as simple as finding a hidden object, listening carefully to a coded message or communicating with your team mates to resolve a secret clue.

ARE THE ESCAPE ROOMS SUITABLE FOR UNDER 18s?

As TRAPT is a fully licensed venue, you must be 18 or over to attend TRAPT, and proof of age must be produced upon request. Under liquor licensing laws, proof of age must be one the following: Australian Drivers Licence, Victoria Learners Permit, Proof of Age Card, Keypass, Passport. If you are under this age you must attend with your own parent, and that parent must accompany you in the TRAPT experience.

WHAT ESCAPE ROOM DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR A FIRST TIME VISITOR?

All of our escape rooms can be played in order but we recommend this path!

WHERE IS TRAPT?

TRAPT is located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD on the corner of Lonsdale St and the historic Niagara Lane.

IS PUBLIC TRANSPORT AVAILABLE?

TRAPT is a short 5 minute walk from Melbourne Central Train Station and close by to Trams and Buses along Elizabeth and Lonsdale St.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE?

While parking is not available on site there is street parking and secure parking close by.

AM I ACTUALLY TRAPT?

As each of our escape room adventures are multi-room, you will always be able to exit via the entry door so you can leave at any stage.

WHAT IF I GET STUCK?

Each room is fitted with cameras (not recorded) and your team will be provided with a walkie-talkie to keep you in touch with our all-knowing team members. Just give them a yell and they’ll come by and point you in the right direction.

CAN I BOOK OVER THE PHONE?

Unfortunately, we do not take bookings over the phone. You can confirm your booking by making a payment via Paypal or directly with your credit card (through the Paypal platform). If you require any assistance in making your booking, you can reach us on +613 9088 0870 or [email protected].

HOW LONG IS A TRAPT BOOKING?

The whole TRAPT experience takes around 1 hour with 50 minutes in the escape room. If you have any questions beforehand, just send us an email at [email protected].

HOW  MUCH DOES IT COST?

The pricing is per person per room.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I MAKE A BOOKING?

We generally recommend that you make a booking at least two weeks in advance to secure your preferred session. If you have any questions, you can reach us on [email protected].

I TOLD SOME FRIENDS I WAS GOING TO GET TRAPT AND NOW THEY WANT TO COME ALONG, IS THIS OKAY?

Absolutely! If you have extra players than you booked for, just get them to come along and we’ll fix it up when you arrive.

WE’VE BOOKED FOR LESS THAN 6 PEOPLE, WILL WE HAVE TO PLAY WITH OTHERS?

No. Your chosen team will have an exclusive opportunity to escape. We will not add players to your experience.

THERE’S MORE THAN 6 PLAYERS IN MY TEAM, CAN WE STILL PLAY IN ONE ROOM?

Each experience has a maximum team size. For Cave In and Under the Big Top, the maximum team size is currently 6, while Mutiny and Wonderland have a maximum team size of 8, and team sizes in both Wayward Wizard North & South are limited to a maximum of 5 to ensure that everybody has a safe and enjoyable experience. Alternatively, you can also arrange to play an assortment of our TRAPT rooms simultaneously or in succession.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY BOOKING?

Whilst there are no specific clothing requirements, we do recommend that you wear comfortable clothing to participate.

CAN I USE A GIFT CERTIFICATE IN THE BAR?

Yes, you can! Voucher codes can be used either to make your bookings online or as bar tabs in the venue or you can use part on your booking and part in the bar!.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Just bring yourself, a healthy spirit of competition, a dash of bravery and a group of friends!
You will be required to have both acceptable Proof of Age ID to attend Trapt.

I CAN’T MAKE IT TO MY BOOKING, WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY?

If you are no longer able to make your booking, please contact us at  as soon as you can. If possible, we will work with you to arrange another time, or arrange a gift certificate for the value of your booking, which may be subject to terms of use. All cancellations within 48hrs may be subject to a $30 cancellation fee, which will be subtracted from the value of your issued gift certificate.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU CHANGE THE TRAPT EXPERIENCES?

We’re committed to bringing new experiences to TRAPT every year which means you’ll always have something new to try! Subscribe to our website and follow us on social media for #BTS news and the chance to be a guinea pig in our new experiences.

ARE GIFT CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE?

Absolutely! You can purchase a gift certificate via our website under the “Book Now” menu tab.

CAN I ORGANISE AN EVENT AT TRAPT?

CAN A MEMBER OF MY TEAM STILL PARTICIPATE IN A TRAPT EXPERIENCE IF THEY ARE PREGNANT?

Absolutely! Our experiences are all pregnancy-friendly. However, as the experience is 50 minutes on your feet, it may be uncomfortable for those in late-stage pregnancy who are always welcome to leave the experience at any stage to rest in our lounge area if they would prefer.

I’M ORGANISING A CORPORATE EVENT, HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PLAY AT ONCE?

With four great escape rooms in one convenient place TRAPT is ideal for corporate bookings. We can comfortably accommodate up to 32 people per session and can arrange back-to-back bookings for larger groups with plenty of space to relax in the bar to plan your escape! IS TRAPT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Unfortunately being situated in the basement at this stage TRAPT is not wheelchair accessible as the only current access is down the stairs from the Lonsdale St entrance.
